In this new age of technology, market goers are finding new ways of house hunting through the use of new apps, marketing techniques and a vast amount of googling.
One new tool that has been used is the ‘inspection’ tool found in Real Estate.com. This tools allows potential buyers and tenants to view an inspection virtually, hence taking out the hassle of trying to attend hundreds of inspections in person and missing out on days of work.
This is a particular hit with new parents. This demographic is already swamped in the enormous task of looking after a little one, its no wonder this way of attending an inspection is a popular hit. Over 6000 inspections have been uploaded since the virtual inspection tool was created and made available. Almost all of the active ‘rent’ listings with a video have been uploaded using the tool as well.
This is one tool that I recommend checking out before buying.
Another tool buyers are using are the rating apps of both agents, agencies and properties themselves.
Tools such as Rate My Agent and Property Reviewed are designed to give the buyer the power to investigate who they are really dealing with as well as what the property is actually like. It’s important to not only check out the reviews on an agency’s website but also their reviews on other platforms. This allows you to not only gain a wider scope of who you can trust but also really be able to trust them. Tools that review properties such as Property Reviewed allow you to sus out what others have thought of the property before inspecting, giving you an edge of what to look for, what questions to ask and which properties to look at.
Finally I truly recommend checking out these blog posts. For those that already do – you are ahead of the game. Blogs offer insights into the market that agents find are relevant and may help to narrow your search.
